All of our parties are 45 to 60-minutes in length. They all start with a magic trick then include many different experiments (see below). They also come with a full color Mad Science poster for the birthday child to keep and Mad Science stickers for all of the children. All parties require you to provide a small table to set up the experiments on.
Do you want to…melt…a snowman? Journey with your Mad Scientist as we explore a frozen fantasy world with your birthday child. We will make a pile of snow magically explode out of nowhere. Eggbert the Troll will need the children’s help to get back into his tiny house. The children will discover what a polymer is by melting some ‘snow’ that has taken over a castle and by melting our friend, Olaf the Snowman! We’ll conquer the powers of the winds that swirl around the North Mountains as we explain a vortex, as well as perform experiments using very cold and very frozen Dry Ice! Brrrr. The finale will have the children making their own snowballs out of our Mad Science putty. Can be done indoors and outdoors. Requires water prior to the party.
Our Preschool Birthday party is an excellent introduction to science for the younger children. In it we help the children gain an understanding of what air is, in a fun and exciting way. We have numerous toys that use air (pinwheels, balloons, beach balls, tornado makers) that all the children get to play with. We make bubbles using a bubble wand, a bubble volcano and, using Dry Ice, we make large bubbles that when popped release some smokey gas called CO2. The last 15-minutes or so are spent having all the children make our Loop-D-Loop Airplanes that they get to take home with them. Can be done indoors and outdoors. Requires water prior to the party.
In this party the topic is Polymers: anything that is stretchy and sometimes ooey and gooey. In it we make our little buddy Eggbert fit into a small flask using a little bit of science magic. We melt the Wicked Witch of the West using acetone. Everyone gets to make a tornado using Vortex Generators and Tornado Tubes. After a few other experiments involving air and polymers, all the children spend the last 15-minutes or so making Mad Science silly putty that they get to take home with them. Can be done indoors or outdoors.
This party is all about light and electricity. After our opening magic tricks we delve into the subject of electricity. The Mad Scientist uses a Tesla Coil to make small bolts of lightning, to light several light sources (neon bulb & florescent bulb), ignite some magician's flash paper and then holds the Coil by the business end of it in one hand, a light bulb in the other, demonstrating how electricity travels through their body to light up the light bulb. After that the children get to experiment with Rainbow Glasses to see all the colors of the rainbow. Following that is our indoor fireworks display! (We do promise NOT to blow up your house.) That leads into experiments with ultraviolet light. Finally, we switch gears to have all the children make some Slime! Due to the light experiments, this party must be performed in a room that can be darkened a bit. Requires water before the start of the party.
The topic of this party is Chemical Reactions! In this party the children will experience sand that is afraid of water, exothermic/endothermic reactions (hot and cold), and many more exciting, thought provoking, and fun chemical reactions. Other experiments may include Chemical Luminescence and light writing or a Mad Science water rocket launch and the famous Soda Fountain Spray experiment depending on whether we’re inside or out. The final make-and-take for everyone will be Super Balls. Great for older children! This party can be performed indoors or outdoors, but if indoors a room that can be darkened is required.
Does your child enjoy reading about young wizards? Then they'll love this one. Experiments include: A Young Wizards Magic Wand trick, lighting bolts from our Electric Wand, making light with our Lumos Wand, secret message paper that disappears with a bright flash, and our Wizard's Indoor Fireworks display. The Mad Scientist will demonstrate Mystic Potions with Ice from the Mystic Cave of Yaaaaaaar, the screeching spoon, Voldemorts Volcano of Foam, and Magical Substances with Slime for all! This party must be performed in a room that can be darkened a bit. Requires water before the start of the party.
Are you looking for the perfect touch of spookiness for your Halloween party this year? Our Mad Science Halloween Party is just the thing. Our presentation will have your audience gasping and laughing at the Mad Scientist's peculiar and chilling science experiments. Through a mixture of science and magic the children will see a paper spider turn into a 'real-live' spider. Hear the tales of Count Eggbert and Countess Eggberta as they battle the wicked witch. Watch as the wicked witch is melted right before your eyes! Then, as a grand finale, the Mad Scientist will introduce the audience to the eerie world of Dry Ice, making bubbling potions and lots of fearsome fog. All will have an evening of gruesome goodness and fun! Included is Slime making for all!
