Why Science is Vital to a Child’s Education

Nov 5, 2014 12:00 AM

A well-rounded child grows up to be a well-rounded adult. There are basics children need to know regarding several subjects in order to succeed in the world we live in today. In particular, science is a subject that’s very important because the world literally operates “on science.” Think about all the scientific discoveries that have impacted your everyday life, from TV to computers and automobiles to air conditioning. Science helps society thrive. Imagine if the next generation didn’t study science. New discoveries wouldn’t be made. And not enough of the population would know and understand how things work.

Science encourages people to ask questions and then seek answers through experiments. With a scientific approach, kids are able to develop their reasoning and logic skills. They get to see how things work and get some answers to the classic question so many kids ask adults: “Why?”

Many children today are spending a lot of time playing video games, and while that can be fun, it’s also important to remember that experiencing real-life situations matter. With that in mind,
Mad Science is a company that introduces kids to scientific ideas around the USA, including in our branch in west New Jersey.

By making scientific experiences entertaining, Mad Science is helping educate and inspire the next generation of career scientists, as well as spurring interest in science for all kids from all backgrounds for the sake of knowledge. Science is for the curious.

In a world where technology is ubiquitous, young people need to be able to use their brain to think about things, make new discoveries, and interpret results. Science education is vital.
