System 2

There are several after school science programs including "System 2", explore the details of this program below.

WATTS-UP: Learn about electricity; its properties and its role in natural phenomena. Make indoor lightning while conducting hair-raising experiments with our electro-static generator.

MAGNETIC MAGIC: Investigate the powers and daily uses of magnets. Test for electromagnetic fields and then use what you have learned to test the strength of the magnetic field.

OPTICAL ILLUSIONS: Build your own periscope while learning about optics, reflection and sight. Watch celebrity images change before your very eyes! Seeing is not always believing.

LIGHTS, COLOR, ACTION!: In this project, you will uncover the hidden components in ordinary light and build your own Newton's color wheel to prove it.

MATTER OF FACT: Exploring the exciting world of matter is fun and exciting. Create your own molecule, and copper-plate a nickel. Transform three regular liquids into an oozing batch of your very own Mad Science putty.

SONIC SOUNDS: Discover sound, sound waves and the way household items can be used to create amazing movie effects. Build your own harmonica too!

CALL OF THE WILD: All About Animals brings children into the amazing animal kingdom! Children learn about diverse, astounding creatures on earth as they experiment with camouflage and get hands-on with real tooth and claw replicas. Children see what’s inside animals and discover which animals are truly spineless! Organizing a wide range of creatures teaches how scientists classify everything from elephants to arachnids. The real circle of life is revealed as children explore and compare animal life cycles. The Animal Tracks Take-Home lets children create casts of animal tracks just like real naturalists

HARNESSING HEAT: Fast moving molecules are the main attraction in the exploration of energy and heat. Children will see Boyle's Law in action, as we show how air behaves when heated or cooled, and will also learn the role heat plays in phase changes. To wrap it all  up, the children will build their own working thermometer and practice testing relative temperature.
