Bugs

This class will introduce students to the realm of insects when they learn about their fabulous flying abilities, their unique eyesight, and the way they defend themselves against predators. Students will get an opportunity to see how camouflage works and see how chemicals combine to create the same reaction that makes fireflies glow in the dark!

Call of the Wild

All About Animals brings children into the amazing animal kingdom! Children learn about diverse, astounding creatures on earth as they experiment with camouflage and get hands-on with real tooth and claw replicas. Children see what’s inside animals and discover which animals are truly spineless! The Animal Tracks Take-Home lets children create casts of animal tracks just like real naturalists.

Che-Mystery

Children will explore one of the most exiting and fundamental sciences as they grow their own crystal gardens. They will also learn how to break polymer bonds and create soda pop.

Current Events

Take a tour on the electron freeway! The class will learn about conductors, insulators, transistors, and other elements in the world of circuit electricity. After learning the basics, students will be challenged to work in teams to complete a circuit and light up a bulb.

Detective Science

Students will become science sleuths as they investigate how chemistry provides evidence at the scene of the crime. During this hands-on detective work, children will gather and test 'crime scene' clues, make and analyze their own fingerprints, decipher codes and encrypt messages.

Dry Ice-Capades

Children will be introduced to the scientific concepts of phase changes and states of matter. They will witness the phenomenon of sublimation as we demonstrate the unique properties of dry ice & the spectacular "smoke" it creates. They will learn that dry ice is really frozen CO2 and will experience the Mad Science burp, a display of bubbling potions and, finally, a spooky Halloween scene.

Earthworks

Take a voyage to the center of the Earth! We'll investigate the powerful process that shapes our planet and forms remarkable rocks, magnificent minerals, and glittering gems! Children will take home Ultraviolet Detectors which they build themselves!

Harnessing Heat

Fast moving molecules are the main attraction in the exploration of energy and heat. Children will see Boyle's Law in action, as we show how air behaves when heated or cooled, and will also learn the role heat plays in phase changes. To wrap it all up, the children will build their own working thermometer and practice testing relative temperature.

Fundamental Forces

Gravity, inertia, & centripetal force. Who could ever imagine that an introduction to physics could be so much fun? We;ll experience these awesome forces for ourselves & build cool devices & watch them at work!

Glow Show

Discover amazing things that glow bright in the dark and come to light! Probe the properties of light and explore some unusual applications of glow-in-the-dark technology! Use your Blacklight Writer to make secret messages that only you can see!

Junior Reactors

Create a tiny world of atoms with your very own set of Atomic Coins! Children will learn the difference between physical and chemical reactions as they perform and observe engaging experiments. Junior scientists will discover how small atoms are and mix up reactive ingredients for some sensational results!

Lights, Color, Action!

Using a Newton's color wheel that they have built themselves, students in this class will prove that white light really is made up of all the colors of the rainbow! They will witness the wonders of chromatography in an exciting demonstration and will then be introduced to the concept of diffraction. Children will then experience this first hand wearing "rainbow" glasses.

Mad Machines

Peek into a class to watch elementary-age engineers hard at work with pulleys and levers. They will design, problem-solve, and have a whole lot of fun! Students will even take home a cool Mad Science Machine that they build themselves!

Magnetic Magic

Investigate the powers and daily uses of magnets! In this class, students will learn about polarity, will visualize magnetic fields, and will learn how to magnetize ordinary metals. They will also see how to make a compass.

Matter of Fact

Students explore molecules and the forces that hold atoms together. They see the dramatic differences between physical and chemical changes, as they mix up a batch of their very own Mad Science Putty to take home.

Movie Effects

Grab your popcorn but don't sit back…we're going to learn first-hand how advances in science and technology make our favorite special effects possible! Children will take home a Cartoon Creator that they've made themselves! It's Einstein meets Spielberg in a class of 3..2..1…action!

Moving Motion

Children catapult into Newton's three laws of motion! They yank a cloth from under dishes and send crash test dummies flying, adjust the mass of two identical cars & learn how heavier objects need a bigger push to move the same distance. Children drop two plastic eggs (one heavier than the other) and find out they hit the ground at the same time! They twirl into action with the Newton Spinner.

Optical Illusions

In this program, students will learn about the eye, how we see, and why our eyes are so easily tricked. They will also discover that water drops can mimic lenses, which can be used to magnify or shrink images. The use of mirrors in optical illusions is easily understood after students build their own periscopes.

pH pHactor

Slide down the colorful pH scale and dip into the world of acids and bases! Explore the pH extremes with your Reaction Tube in what is sure-to-be a popping experience! Discover whether liquids found in your home are acids or bases using your personal pH Paper!

Science of Magic

The secrets of magic are explored in this fun class. The children will watch as the Mad Scientist changes water to grape juice and back again as well as several other captivating tricks. The class gets to experience Houdini's chain escape first hand and make their very own magic trick to take home and amaze their family!

Science of Toys

Did you know that some of your favorite toys work using basic science principles? In this class we use bouncing balls, and other classic toys to discover the science of motion through fun hands-on activities. Find out how cool vector toys and string things work and make your own super balls!

Slime Time

Giant molecule chains called polymers are vital to modern civilization. In this program, we will explore, create and play with the most entertaining and useful molecule known to science, and discover its many shapes and forms. Children even make their own slime that they get to take home and keep!

Sonic Sounds

Discover the exciting properties of sound in these sonic sixty minutes. Children will learn how sound create amazing movie effects. Junior scientists will end their auditory adventure by making a kazoo to take home!

Space Travel

This is your chance to be a rocket scientist! Investigate the four forces of flight as you race through space. We will even see the principles of propulsion at work in a real rocket launch!

Stunt Planes and Flight

This class is a wonderful mix of conceptual and hands-on learning, which will introduce your students to the basics of aerodynamics. Kids will learn about the forces that affect flying machines, and will build a football glider, a Delta Dart and even a loop-flying stunt plane

Super Sticky Stuff

Stick experiments to the walls and push the power of tape to the limits in this adhesive hour with things that cling! Children will experiment with different sticky materials and learn about the origins of Velcro. Build a bond with glue and get attached to Professor Beakerdude!

Super Structures

Discover the strengths of triangles, cylinders and arches. Learn how combinations of these shapes make for sturdy homes and skyscrapers! Use teamwork to build your own super structures as well as an earthquake-proof building!

Under Pressure

Join Bernoulli and Newton as we take this exciting look at the science behind the properties of air... under pressure. Use a vortex generator to create air pockets with a punch, and levitate ping-pong balls in a defiance of gravity!

Walloping Weather

Welcome to the wild world of weather! Investigate why it rains, what causes lightning and even how weather is predicted. Children learn about the effects of the sun and how it plays a role in evaporation. Create your own tornado tube and watch weather whirl!

Watts Up?

Children will learn about the phenomenon of lightning, how it was discovered and how to avoid meeting with it up close! They will experiment with static electric charges they have created and will then learn & observe how the Van de Graaff generator does it so well. Children will have the opportunity to collect static charges & watch this hair-raising experience with delight!
