BRIXOLOGY
Our LEGO™ BRIXOLOGY camp was developed in partnership with LEGO™ Master Builders! Team up to build exclusive creations that will test your engineering abilities! Build carnival rides, paddle boats, mechanical animals, and even a vehicle that moves. Try your hand at nautical, structural, and even biomechanical engineering! Let the tinkering begin!
Chemical Curiosities
Become a creative chemist through the investigation of the periodic table and the atoms that make up everything around us! Learn about chemical reactions as you grow crystals. We will experiment oxidizing metals with different chemicals to see how rusty they get, design chromatography bandanas to take home, and even make our very own ice cream!
Eureka: Launching with Legends
Discover the work of da Vinci, Edison, Tesla, & Benjamin Franklin & use what you learn to invent solutions to everyday problems. You’ll prepare a proposal & receive a patent certificate for your very own invention. Build your own catapult, & launch projectiles off a large trebuchet! You’ll bring home countless cool inventions & a squadron of paper airplanes the Wright brothers would be proud of!
Eureka: Take Flight to the Future
Use your imagination and creativity to escape the dangers of an island and make it back into space! Explore technological advances: submarines, boats, stomp rockets, & spacecraft. Discover science fiction through the works of Jules Verne and Isaac Asimov. All campers will build and take home their own sci-fi inspired light sabers!
Junior Physicians Academy
Explore all of the cells, organs, muscles, and bones that make up YOU! Put yourself together from the inside out, while learning about all the systems that make your body tick! Get microscopic while making a model cell and inflatable lungs, and then get a little sticky while making Mad Mucus and a mashed potato brain!
Mad Machines & Jr. Engineers
Whether you enjoy building or destroying structures, you’ll love this camp! Work with pulleys, wedges, screws, and levers, build your own catapults and play robot soccer! Exercise your ability to work with others while constructing a geodesic dome big enough for all campers to fit inside! Let the engineering excitement begin!
Mad Machines & Rockin' Rockets
Spring into a medley of science! Learn about the Earth and its animal inhabitants, simple machines, rocketry, and chemical reactions; there’s something for everyone! Build and race a car, concoct creations with chemistry, analyze animal tracks and cap off the week with a rocket launch!
NASA Journey into Outer Space
Take a voyage of discovery into the atmosphere and beyond as we explore planets, moons, and other space phenomena. Create a comet and build your own Mad Science rocket and participate in a real NASA style rocket launch! Campers will take home additional NASA activities to complete at home! Mad Science is the ONLY organization licensed by NASA to use these activities for Summer Camps!
Robots! Paths to Power
Explore the discoveries & inventions that have made robots possible. From learning how robots light up to getting them moving with gears. We will experiment with different sources of energy & even get to take a hand-powered generator home. We will see how these energy sources affect the environment & how they compare with sustainable energy while thinking about future energy sources.
Secret Agent Lab: Spies Like Us
Become a super spy and learn clever ways of performing tasks in this hands-on view of the science that spies use. Go on secret missions to find enemy spies and receive your very own pair of spyglasses. From decoding messages to secret safes and lasers, you will have the opportunity to check out spy equipment, and discover the technological tools of detection!
Secret Agent Lab: Funky Forensics
Step into the shoes of a detective— uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis. Using your observational skills, collect evidence and analyze the clues left behind. Recreate the scene of a crime using schematics. Use science to connect the dots and help sniff out the suspects in this hands-on investigation into the science of sleuthing!
Super, Slimy, Smoky Science
Dive into a variety of scientific fields as you help solve a mystery, stretch silly putty and slime, copper-plate nickels, tinker with circuits, and investigate optical illusions. Become captivated by lasers, dry ice, and hair-raising experiments! You will love what happens when you mix science and fun!
Jr. Naturalists
Learn how birds & beasts catch their prey! Discover how animals & insects adapt to life on our planet. Explore how changes in wind, water, & temperature affects all of Earth’s inhabitants. Build birdhouses, dissect owl pellets & learn how animals navigate the world using scent trails. Campers will also build a bug house to observe critters & identify animals by making plaster animal tracks.
NASA STEM Explorers
Developed in partnership with NASA, campers will think & act like NASA innovators during this program inspired by the NASA OPTIMUS PRIME Research Challenge (NASA OPSPARC). Use creative & collaborative skills to design a mission patch, train like an astronaut, build a Mars rover & solve real-world engineering problems. How might you use space suit cooling tubes be used to solve a problem on Earth!
Underground Explorers
From Dinosaurs to Ancient Civilizations! Learn about archaeology & the techniques scientists use to excavate long lost cities. Discover ancient civilizations & the tools & artifacts they used in everyday life. Study bone fragments, pottery shards, amber deposits, & fossils to understand what they can tell us about history. Take home projects include an amber time capsule and antique coins!
